Book Group 'A' was started in September 1995 by a small group of dedicated readers.  During the past 28 years members have read and discussed nearly 300 books by nearly as many authors.  We plan the calendar for the coming year by each member volunteering to choose a book, which they will introduce, for a particular month.  This programme includes a diverse range of books including modern novels, classics, and biographies.  This enhances our knowledge of authors and subjects.

Wokingham Library provides a wide selection of book-sets which are available through their Books Collection Service to loan for the period.  For one month in the year, we choose our own book which we obtain from bookshops, charity shops, online, from friends, family, or even from our our bookshelves - wherever. Meetings are held in member's homes and after a lively and stimulating discussion on the month's choice, tea and biscuits are served with time for a general chat.

We are an enthusiastic and friendly group of 9 with regular attendance. A small sum is collected each year to cover the cost of the annual subscription for the Wokingham Book Group Collections Service.

Please contact the convenor should you require further information.
