Other than normal Group meetings, there are currently no additional events scheduled for this Group

This group is for anyone who is interested in photography. It is open to people at all levels of experience and with a wide range of interests.

The goal of the group is to help improve your photography beyond taking snap shots.

Unlike a traditional camera club, we don't have competitions. We have a theme for each month (which is deliberately wide enough to allow a good degree of interpretation) and everyone brings along a few pictures.

We then show them to the group (via a projector – no need to print them out) and the photographer describes what they did, what they were aiming for, what the picture means to them... and the group gives some feedback.

This is generally in the form of "I like that, but have you considered..." or "that worked well, how did you...?". The aim is to share knowledge and experience and to give encouragement and constructive suggestions in a supportive way.

At most meetings, we also have a short presentation from one of the members on a topic they find interesting or new techniques / software / methods they've found.

Members have knowledge and experience of photographing subjects from the microscopic (entomology) through to the macroscopic (astronomy) and a lot in between with interests in landscapes, wildlife, plants, transport, bird-watching, events... so there's plenty of variety.
