This group was founded in 2016 as a group for beginners who wanted to learn Latin.
We have completed the Cambridge Latin Course and have moved on to reading and translating original Latin texts. We have finished The Aeneid Book 1 by Virgil, and some of Pliny's Letters, a selection of Ovid's Metamorphoses and are currently doing some of Cicero's speeches.
Our primary focus is on a literal translation of the Latin with an appreciation thereof as a secondary objective.
This group meets in members' houses on a rotating basis.
We are able and happy to accept new members, but please note our Latin is at a fairly advanced stage now.
